On a personal note, the most interesting part here is that I did the release (and am writing this) on an arm64 laptop. It's something I've been waiting for for a _loong_ time, and it's finally reality, thanks to the Asahi team. We've had arm64 hardware around running Linux for a long time, but none of it has really been usable as a develop
\nment platform until now.<\/p>\n

It's the third time I'm using Apple hardware for Linux development - I did it many years ago for powerpc development on a ppc970 machine. And then a decade+ ago when the Macbook Air was the only real thin-and-lite around. And now as an arm64 platform.<\/p>\n

Apple\u306e\u30cf\u30fc\u30c9\u30a6\u30a7\u30a2\u3092Linux\u306e\u958b\u767a\u306b\u4f7f\u3046\u306e\u306f\u3053\u308c\u30673\u56de\u76ee\u3067\u3059\u3002\u4f55\u5e74\u3082\u524d\u306bpc970\u306e\u30de\u30b7\u30f3\u3067powerpc\u306e\u958b\u767a\u3092\u3057\u305f\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u300210\u5e74\u4ee5\u4e0a\u524d\u3001Macbook Air\u304c\u552f\u4e00\u306e\u8584\u578b\u8efd\u91cf\u6a5f\u3060\u3063\u305f\u9803\u3082\u305d\u3046\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002\u305d\u3057\u3066\u4eca\u306f\u3001arm64\u30d7\u30e9\u30c3\u30c8\u30d5\u30a9\u30fc\u30e0\u3068\u3057\u3066\u4f7f\u3063\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

Not that I've used it for any real work, I literally have only been doing test builds and boots and now the actual release tagging. But I'm trying to make sure that the next time I travel, I can travel with this as a laptop and finally dogfooding the arm64 side too.<\/p>\n
