Windows TerminalはMicrosoftが開発を率いるオープンソースのターミナルアプリケーション。
タブやペインによる画面分割に対応し、コマンドプロンプトのほか、PowerShell、WSLなど複数のシェル環境を切り替えて使用することができる。GPUを使用したテキストレンダリングによって描画が高速化。レンダラーはUTF-8およびUnicodeに対応し、絵文字を含めたさまざまな言語を表示することができる。
プロファイルを利用した柔軟な設定機能や、専用のフォントCascadia Monoの搭載も特徴。
