Googleは次回のChromeの次期アップデート「Chrome 139」でmacOS 11 Big Surのサポートが終了します(Neowin)。Chrome Platform Statusには以下のような情報が掲載されています。
Chrome 138 will be the last release to support macOS 11; Chrome 139+ will no longer support macOS 11, which is outside of its support window with Apple. Running on a supported operating system is essential to maintaining security.
On Macs running macOS 11, Chrome will continue to work, showing a warning infobar, but will not update any further. If a user wishes to have their Chrome be updated, they need to update their computer to a support version of macOS.
For new installations of Chrome 139+, macOS 12+ will be required.
Chrome 138 は macOS 11 をサポートする最後のバージョンです。Chrome 139 以降は macOS 11 をサポートしなくなります。macOS 11 は Apple のサポート期間外であるため、対応する OS を使用することがセキュリティ維持のために重要です。
macOS 11 を搭載した Mac では Chrome は引き続き動作しますが、警告のインフォバーが表示され、今後のアップデートは行われません。Chrome を最新の状態で使用したい場合は、macOS をサポートされているバージョンにアップデートする必要があります。
Chrome 139 以降の新規インストールには、macOS 12 以上が必要です。
macOS 11 Big Surに対応する最後のChromeは、現行の安定版Chrome 138で、Chrome 139以降はmacOS 12 Monterey以上が必要となります。
AppleのmacOS 11 Big Surのサポートは2023年に終了しており、Coogleは、Chromeをそれ以降約2年間追加でサポートしてきました。今後macOS 11上で、Chromeは引き続き動作しますが、警告のインフォバーが表示されセキュリティパッチや新機能の提供はありません。
なお Chrome 139はmacOS 12 Monterey以降で動作しますが、macOS 12のAppleのサポートもすでに終了しており注意は必要です。AppleがサポートしているmacOSのバージョンは以下の最新3世代となっています。
- macOS 13 Ventura
- macOS 14 Sonoma
- macOS 15 Sequoia
Chromeを安全かつ快適に使い続けるには、Appleが現在サポートしているこれらのmacOSバージョンへのアップグレードが推奨されます。
