Microsoftは本日、Windows Updateを利用し手動でアップデートを確認している全てのユーザー(Microsoftは"シーカー"と呼んでいます)に対し、Windows 10 Version 21H1の提供を開始したことを発表しました。

Windows 10, version 21H1 is available for users with devices running Windows 10, version 20H2 and Windows 10, version 2004, who manually seek to “Check for updates” via Windows Update.Windows 10, version 21H1は、Windows 10, version 20H2およびWindows 10, version 2004を搭載したデバイスを所有していて、Windows Updateで「更新プログラムの確認」を手動で実行したユーザーが利用できます。
We are now starting a new phase in our rollout. Using the machine learning training we have done so far, we are increasing the number of devices selected to update automatically to Windows 10, version 21H1 that are approaching end of servicing. We will continue to train our machine learning through all phases to deliver a smooth update experience.

シーカーに対しWindows 10 May 2021 Updateを提供する事に加え、Version 2004のより多くのユーザーに対し、機械学習アルゴリズムに基づき自動アップグレードを開始すると説明しています。Windows 10 Version 2004の一部のSKUは今年の12月にサポート終了を迎えるため、それに備えた作業だと考えられます。Windows 10では使用しているバージョンのサポート期間が終了に近づかない限り自動的にアップグレードは行われません。
Version 2004/20H2/21H2はベースが同じで、機能有効化パッケージによって短時間でアップグレード可能です。
